Our new "31 Gang" series.....

Dudley is a creepy little snowman don't you think?
He likes to creep around with his "gang" of hoodlums....
especially during October.
This is Buddy who is just plain silly.
Morty is an awkward kind of skelly.
He tries to be spooky but he's just shy.
Oh boy!  And then there is Frank.  I'd just stay
 as far away
as I could if I were you.
This is Chester.  He is a sneaky little
devil....can't you see it in his eyes?
And lastly this is Gordon.

These are some limited edition pieces for our 2011 Halloween Collection.  Take a look!  Should we add a few more?  If so.....what should they be?  A which?  A creep?

Family of Butterflies...

I just finished this piece for a lovely couple who experienced a great loss.  We started working on a family with three babies and unfortunately she miscarried all three of her baby girls.  She wanted to do something to remember them so we created this piece in which each little girl is represented by a pink butterfly.

Whoooo's going to be in the fall issue of Prims magazine?

This owl!
It has been made from polymer clay and stands on a piece of pine. Kirsten (the other half of indigotwin) created him over a foil armature and used textures on it's belly and wire for accents.
We can't wait to see it in print!

Three hours on the mower.....

Yup...that's right.  It takes me three full hours to mow our lawn.  I put my ipod on shuffle and listen to a mix of Indigo Girls, Eddie Veder, Adele and Lady Antebellum.  I put on one of my BIG sun hats from worthygoods and I go around and around on the grass.  I developed some vitiligo on my face which is  is a skin condition in which there is a loss of brown color (pigment) from areas of skin, resulting in irregular white patches.  That means that my face can burn really easily and it hurts pretty bad.  I love my hats first of all because they are beautiful, they are reversible and they are made in Maine.  Dory, from worthygoods, made me a few of these fabulous hats made from beautiful designer fabrics and now I can be outside again!  Go check out her etsy shop!

Gardening.....

I love being outside and so my children do as well. Any day that it isn't raining you can find us outside doing something like pulling weeds, riding bikes or taking care of our 3 acres.  We have beautiful perennial gardens that were created by the previous owners.  Each week there is something new blooming which attract the hummingbirds, butterflies and bees.  We love to grow our own veggies as well and have always tried to have a pretty large garden.  But being the mom of three busy children as well as running my own business, I just can't seem to get it all done.  We have moved from a very large garden to two small 4x4 ft.
raised beds.

Last years garden is now a mass of dandilions.  We are having a bulldozer come and level our backyard for our hockey rink.  Right now it is off by a few inches and it takes a lot of water to level it out.

We have planted peppers, tomatoes, red onions, cukes, cilantro and romaine.  We have a large crop of raspberries, blackberries and strawberries on our property as well.  I'm sure I can take care of and weed the small beds this year and the large garden always got so far ahead of me.

Too many weeds and not enough time to weed the garden.  Plus our dog always ran through and killed many plants which made all my hard work fruitless.  Wish us luck!
