Here at our house, my kids are already excited about seeing Santa! They are thinking about their Christmas lists and what they would like to buy for our family members.
I have been making and sculpting tons of Santa's! I have too many ideas and too little time to make them. We've been selling them to friends, at craft shows and on our Etsy site.....

Wow! We are so excited about the upcoming holidays and what it means for us! It means being crazy busy with our crafts as well as getting our families together! Even though our family is "SUPER LOUD"...it is so much fun for us all to be together under one roof! Our mother makes the best turkey dinner hands down! We all try to chip in and make some goodies to go along with her super meal and my favorite part is sitting around....just chatting and catching up! Our family is spread across the whole state of Maine and we will be getting together for Thanksgiving as well as Christmas! FUN TIMES!

We made it through our first craft show! Things went well for us and we are thinking about doing another in the spring. We had a ton of stuff there....pottery, paintings, sculptures, prints, cards, felt banners, wood signs, dried flowers and ornaments.

Another little canvas on wood. Such a fun break from clay! I have a ton of these little 5x5 and 4x4 canvas lying around from an old order of supplies. I'm glad I finally found a way to use them! Hope they all sell...but if not....I'll hang some up and give them away as presents!

Sometimes I get the itch to do something other than paper clay sculptures. Plus I only have less than one pack and I have several custom orders to do...so.....that means to do something else! I had these small canvas's and some leftover ribbon and wood. They are attached to the wood by some small brown tacks and have been sanded and distressed. I think they came out pretty well and can't wait to see what people think of them at our craft fair in Presque Isle, Maine this weekend. It will be our first one so we don't know how much stuff we'll need or how to display our stuff. We have pottery, jewelry, clay sculptures, cards, prints and more!

Getting ready for our first craft show has been difficult! We really don't know how to display our stuff...how to mix it together....where it's all going to fit! Yesterday we made a cute display that I will be painting with some spare paint for displaying some pottery. The great part about the display is that it comes apart with two wing nut screws and can be stored flat. Wish us luck!

CRAFT SHOW TIME!!! My house is a mess as I get ready for some craft shows! I am someone who gets bored using one medium so I have been spending some time with felt making some fall and winter banners. They are cute and simple....easy to start and stop when my kids need me to get something for them or play with them. NO mess involved like the paper clay process, which I do at night when they are all sleeping! We have had a mad rush on Halloween items so we have been trying to list several items each day which means making multiple things each night! Who needs to sleep!!- Cortney

This was my first attempt using Fimo/polymer clay. i first made a foil armature and then spread the clay around it. I used all my normal techniques but the clay was so soft and plyable...not like paper clay at all. You can see my fingerprints on his face because it was really soft but I think he came out great in the end!

I have been lucky to spend some time with my entire family over the past few weeks! Been to the cottage in N.S. to be with one side of the family and to Maine at the folks to be with my sister and her baby and my brother and his family. We all went tubing/kayaking over the "HOT-HOT" weekend and my little one had his first boat ride. He loved it so much...he fell soundly asleep!

We have been working hard insulating a part of our sunporch and turning it into our son Jackson's new bedroom. He is a delicious one year old with an infectious smile and he has been in a small room off our bedroom for the past 11 months. His room is in progress but we have been spending most of our extra time working on his room. The kids were super happy playing in the new room the other day and it allowed me to work on his mural which comes from a Sam McBrattney book, "You Are All My Favorites." I have spent about 3 hours on it so far and I can't wait to finish.

I have been working on my largest sculpture yet and he's made out of polymer clay which I've never, ever used before. I started with an armature and squished the clay on top and then baked it in the oven. I have started to paint him and will hopefully be posting him on my Etsy site tomorrow! First time for everything. It is a pretty neat medium and hope to use it more often!

Cortney: Been busy juggling the many pieces of my life! I am out of paper clay so I spent some time during the past week putting together some paper collages for some craft shows. I made a Santa, a Snowman and 2 Skeleton's to frame up. I can't wait to get going on some paintings for our summer shows too! I think I'll be working on a series of cow paintings and also a series of fallen down, barns or homes in bold colors for bluehandcreative.

Cortney has been very busy doing multiple custom pieces! I haven't been able to list pieces because I've been working on these orders but they have been so much fun! I worked on a family piece and think it was quite successful. It gave me the great idea to do one of my own for my family!

Being the mother of three young kids, I often wish that for just one day, I could focus completely on art with no interruptions! And then I think...one day soon, they will be busy on their own and I will want them to want me! But for now, I'd like to get something done and stay focused on it for more than just a minute. I decided to take a few photos of my messy art spot......

Cortney's been busy with her 3 young kids as well as doing some home renovations! I've made some new small magnets for craft shows as well as freebies in our packages. We've both decided to start getting into some small Maine shops and have put our folk art sculptures into a shop, Busy, Busy, Busy!

indigotwin's first post!
what exactly are we doing? This is the question we were asking ourselves this morning as we tried to set up our first post.
Cortney spent most of her day painting and antiquing some ornaments that were started last month. These ornaments are mainly for craft fair purposes and they are hand stamped with different phrases like, "family", "winter", "love" and "joy".
